Welcome back to MUTV! For those of you joining us for the first time you’re watching Mustard Television - the only television program formatted for your electronic mailbox and with a condiment at the helm. I am your host Dijon Derek! We have got another exciting program lined up for your tonight.
As a small condiment we were told by teachers in school to “line up” in a single file line. Anyone remember that? Did you follow the instructions of your teacher or did you create another geometrical shape instead? We here at MUTV would love to know!
Fun fact about Derek’s: Derek’s are terrible at geometry. It is a subject Derek’s have never been able to become proficient in. This lack of strength in this particular subject disappointed the parents of Dijon Derek quite immensely. They hope your parents were more understanding.
You tuned in though not to discuss shapes or relieve past trauma that rests well within your human brain. You are here to watch music videos by independent artists from all across the globe!
Kicking us off tonight is one of MUTV’s favorite artists - Whitney Tai! Whitney Tai is an ethereal rock artist based in Los Angeles, California. They recently released the lead single Rhea which will be on their upcoming new album AMERICAN WASTELAND. Release date is still to be determined.
Whitney Tai - Rhea
Devon Kay & The Solutions - Pump Fake
Corinne Caza - Wanted Sign
What a run of music videos that was! Everything from ethereal rock, ska, and pop! Dijon Derek heard our intern Bryan say that “variety is the spice of life.” Our peers are unable to review that statement at this time.
Last episode our audience along with Dijon Derek was introduced to the human sport of bowling. This week, our producer Jessica, has informed us that Corinne Caza was inspired by “wanted signs” for their latest single. Wanted signs are typically reserved to let the public know that your local authorities are trying to apprehend someone.
This inspired us here at MUTV and we made a wanted sign of our own:
Dijon Derek just received word we have a guest in the studio today! They are thrilled to announce we are joined in studio with Conor Lee. Lee is an active sideman in the Twin Cities music community with over 10 years of experience in the music industry! Let’s switch it to them -
Conor Lee - Unity Gain
Trina Read - Haunting My Hometown
Welcome back to MUTV! Thanks for staying tuned in to the only music television program designed for an electronic mailbox. Our producer Jessica, who you met last episode, has just informed Dijon Derek we have another special guest in studio today!
Carrie Martinelli of Connecticut’s Shell Games is here to introduce their newest music video. Let’s cut our camera over to them!
Shell Games - Please Don’t Sink My Battleship
Hello again! I am your host - Dijon Derek! You’ve been tuned into MUTV (Mustard Television.) You’ve had the pleasure of checking out videos from artists such as:
Dijon Derek has been informed we’ve got more music videos for you on deck! Derek is unsure what kind of deck the studio has but they are thankful it is able to hold these media files. If you are interested in learning more about architecture (and music) we recommend checking out our good friend
! They combine the best of both worlds.Speaking of architecture this leads us to our next music video! Coming to us from New York City is powerpop (and garage rock) band Safe Houses! “I’ll Be Bad to You” is the lead single from the band’s upcoming EP The Winter I Turned Psychic. Keep an eye (or ear) out for that!
Our producer Jessica has just informed Dijon Derek that Safe Houses has sent us a video from their basement headquarters introducing the music video for “I’ll Be Bad to You.”
Let’s roll!
Safe Houses - I’ll Be Bad to You
Gailla - Run To
Ellis Piper - Slumbersong
Woah! What another incredible lineup of music videos. Dijon Derek and the rest of our crew would like to thank anyone who submitted their video to be considered for play. Dijon Derek has no idea how our producers decide what to air but they are thankful to you and them.
If you would like to submit your music video for consideration please send it to justsomemustard@gmail.com. Who knows - perhaps your video will end up in the next episode!
